Creating a video clip!

 Hi again!

How is your week going? DO you remember our last activity about a Storyboard? How was it? Did you enjoy creating the storyboard? Now let's go to the next activity: create a video clip. I am sure that you have seen a video in Youtube or any other platfrom for educative purposes. 

After you do the storyboard, you should record a video that tells the same story as the Storyboard. You can record yourselves and act out, or you can create other type of video, just like my group and I did. We created a video that was created with Powtoon. Powtoon is a tool where you can create presentations, videos and other tools easily. The video is related to women's work recognition. Here you have our video:


This video will be for 6th graders in Science subject.

Regarding Powtoon, is a ver useful tool that gives you the opportunity to create creative and original content. However, I had trouble with the objects that where on the slides, I could not move them to a different place. You can see here how is this website.


If you want to create something, at the relft side of the screen you can see four options: home, templates, import and create. You click on create and it will show you the screen above. You can create a video with a capture and  with horizontal or square style.

At the right side of the screen you can see some options for adding text, an image, an audio or a video in your video.

The use of images in our lessons!

  Visuals and images are a great tool to catch sudents' attention and to increase motivation. As teacher we tend to upload and use different photos that we find in the Internet. But as you might not know, the photos that are sailing through the Internet has a owner/owners. Consequently, not only we have to give credit to the people that made the photo, but also is good to know the type of license of the photo. There are several websites where you can find hundreds of photos, such as Pixabay or Flickr . Since I know how does Creative Commons work, now I can give credit to the author of the image and also know when and where can I use that photo due to the licences. In the next lines I will explain and describe briefly a CLIL lesson activity with selected images from the Internet, giving credit to the authors and using the licences correctly. Storyboard a video project

Hello again! The last activity we worked on was the podcast, how was it? Did you enjoy doing the podcast? What difficulties did you have when doing it? In this entry I will introduce you our next activity: create a video. This video will be educational and we will be working on something related to Education. But first of all, we have to organise our ideas about the video. After having the ideas well organised, we will have to create a storyboard about the video. You can see in my entry about Creating Comics  where I explain how Storyboard works. This storyboard will reflect the characters, ideas, scenes and dialogues that will happen in the video afterwards.  My group and me have created a Storyboard about stories of diferent women whose work has not being recognised or attributed to them.
