What is canva?

You might know what Canva is, but I did not and it changed my life! Canva is a a free web design tool with which you can create and publish wide range of beautiful and elegant free designs without for free and using tools like Photoshop, PowerPoint or Illustrator. You have templates of almost anything and you can use those templates to start creating your own ones!

You can make a lot of things related with education such as presentations, exams, worksheets, posters, inforgraphics... Canva is very easy to use. When you register yourself you create your profile where you can have all your templates. Once you have log in, you have several examples of temples were you can use for free, or you can start a new template from the beginning. There are different types of cailgraphies, images and stickers that you can add to your template!

The infograhic that I have created is about the movements of the Earth: rotation and revolution. Hope you like it!

The use of images in our lessons!

  Visuals and images are a great tool to catch sudents' attention and to increase motivation. As teacher we tend to upload and use different photos that we find in the Internet. But as you might not know, the photos that are sailing through the Internet has a owner/owners. Consequently, not only we have to give credit to the people that made the photo, but also is good to know the type of license of the photo. There are several websites where you can find hundreds of photos, such as Pixabay or Flickr . Since I know how does Creative Commons work, now I can give credit to the author of the image and also know when and where can I use that photo due to the licences. In the next lines I will explain and describe briefly a CLIL lesson activity with selected images from the Internet, giving credit to the authors and using the licences correctly. Storyboard a video project

Hello again! The last activity we worked on was the podcast, how was it? Did you enjoy doing the podcast? What difficulties did you have when doing it? In this entry I will introduce you our next activity: create a video. This video will be educational and we will be working on something related to Education. But first of all, we have to organise our ideas about the video. After having the ideas well organised, we will have to create a storyboard about the video. You can see in my entry about Creating Comics  where I explain how Storyboard works. This storyboard will reflect the characters, ideas, scenes and dialogues that will happen in the video afterwards.  My group and me have created a Storyboard about stories of diferent women whose work has not being recognised or attributed to them.
