The use of images in our lessons!

Visuals and images are a great tool to catch sudents' attention and to increase motivation. As teacher we tend to upload and use different photos that we find in the Internet. But as you might not know, the photos that are sailing through the Internet has a owner/owners. Consequently, not only we have to give credit to the people that made the photo, but also is good to know the type of license of the photo.

There are several websites where you can find hundreds of photos, such as Pixabay or Flickr. Since I know how does Creative Commons work, now I can give credit to the author of the image and also know when and where can I use that photo due to the licences.

In the next lines I will explain and describe briefly a CLIL lesson activity with selected images from the Internet, giving credit to the authors and using the licences correctly. The activity will be about vertebrates and invertebrates animals. The teacher will introduce the topic by showing the students some images that are the ones below:

Pantera Negra (CC BY)

Peces (CC BY-SA)

rana (CC BY-NC-ND)

PAJAROS (CC BY-NC-ND)

After having introduced the topic of vertebrates and invertebrates with the amiges shown previously, I will start showing a video explaining basic information about the vertebrates and invertebrates.
